General Objective

LEMO – Data Science is a Brazilian deep tech startup dedicated to developing advanced solutions in data science, bioinformatics, and artificial intelligence applied to health and the One Health concept. Originating from academic and research activities, LEMO works to transform complex biological data into strategic and actionable information, contributing to decision-making in clinical, environmental, and epidemiological contexts.

Linked to the National Institute of Science and Technology for the Conservation and Exploitation of Biological Resources of Networked Collections (INCT-CERBC), LEMO plays a fundamental role in the management, integration, and analysis of large volumes of multi-omics data generated within the institute. Its activities include the development of reproducible bioinformatics pipelines, curation and standardization of databases, application of artificial intelligence techniques to identify antimicrobial resistance (AMR) patterns, and the creation of interactive dashboards for real-time visualization and monitoring.

The company directly contributes to several specific objectives of the INCT RAM, including: (i) the comparison of metagenomic data from conserved and anthropized environments; (ii) the in silico search for microbial species and resistance genes in environmental and clinical databases; (iii) the correlation of information from different approaches to track the occurrence of cross-AMR; (iv) the identification of new genetic markers using artificial intelligence techniques; and (v) the development of an interactive dashboard for real-time data recording and monitoring, currently under implementation, with potential for future integration into existing surveillance platforms.

As a differentiating factor, LEMO is structured as a scalable technological platform, initially focused on the surveillance and prediction of antimicrobial resistance patterns, but with potential application in other areas of health and biotechnology, such as precision oncology, microbiome studies, and molecular epidemiology. This approach allows for the integration of scientific research and technological innovation, promoting knowledge transfer and generating socioeconomic impact.

In this way, LEMO – Data Science consolidates itself as a strategic partner of INCT-CERBC, expanding the institute's analytical and technological capacity and promoting the practical application of scientific knowledge for the benefit of public health, environmental sustainability, and innovation in Brazil.
